Bowel Infection

A bowel infection can be caused by a fungal organism that is believed to be present in everyone's gastrointestinal tract. Candida Albicans is the most common type the Candida fungus and healthy people are immune to it. A solution that contains Candida albicans has been used to test for healthy immune response for any obvious abnormalities by injecting it just under the skin.

Candida is the most commonly known for causing vaginal yeast infections or oral thrush which usually infect anyone, even the babies.

Candia normally resides in the body kept in control by our immune system, and probiotics (the friendly bacteria) that are found in the bowel.

But if the Candida is allowed to colonize, growing in numbers and causing symptoms associated with a Candida infection, which can be anything from a stomach irritation to something more life-threatening, and one of the more severe being a bowel infection.

When the friendly bacteria in the GI tract is reduced from taking things such as prescribed or even nonprescription medications for a extended length of time, can compromise our body's natural immunity to the Candida albicans and keeping it from multiplying. The antibiotics are the worst culprits to allowing a bowel infection to occur as this not only kills the bad bacteria, it kills the probiotics as well, which are body's protection from the Candida Albicans.

When the Candida Albicans changes from its yeast form to the fungal form, it starts to line the wall of the bowel and causing a bowel infection. As it grows, it uses long root like tentacles to penetrate the intestinal lining, then it releases spores into the rest of the body.

This can cause a breakdown to occur between our intestinal tract and our circulatory system, allowing allergens, poisons, irritants and toxins to enter our bloodstream. Partially digested proteins may also pass through if the openings are large enough, and enter the bloodstream. This is a bowel infection that is also known as "leaky gut syndrome".

There are effective treatments for this type of bowel infection that are effective against Candida albicans. Once it has been successfully diagnosed, they will usually include a course of anti-fungal medication, changing your lifestyle to help reduce stress and a change in your diet.
